The Universe listens. #SoulfulSunday

What happens to the words that come out of our mouth or take form in our mind? I used to wonder often. Sometimes I would see a wish miraculously fulfilled. At others, I would sense my words coming back to haunt me. That’s when I realised that what we speak doesn’t get lost in space. It reaches the Universe. Just like how our mothers grasp all that we think but don’t say, so does the Universe grasp things that we say aloud, or even in our heart.

The secret wish that got fulfilled, the fear that got squashed, the anger aimed at someone that came right back at us, our scathing remarks that taught us how wrong we can be about people we don’t know, the happiness that we unknowingly spread, all of it, heard by the Universe and replied to as and when It deems fit.

That’s how I began watching my words, my thoughts.

You know, sometimes, the Universe gives me such pleasant surprises! There have been instances when I craved for something in my heart, and in a matter of minutes it was in front of me, inviting me to partake of it and fill my tummy and my heart with joy!

There have been instances when something I haven’t wanted, something I feared, came into my life because the Universe wanted me to have it. I learned so much from it, received so much happiness from it. On hindsight, I realised how I would have missed a golden opportunity had the Universe not played its part so well.

That’s the reason I have become so careful of what I think, what I say. One can’t be sure when the Universe might grant you your wish! That’s not to say It always listens to you, or grants you your wishes. There are times the Universe wants us to make mistakes, learn precious lessons, and improve as human beings. But, it does help thinking good things, staying positive and spreading love and happiness with our words.

The Universe is just waiting to bless us. We need to play our part well, too, right?

The above post is written for #SoulfulSunday, along with my dear friends, Vinitha and Esha.

  1. Oh yes, I agree, the Universe listens. It always listens. It makes sense to fill our mind with positive thoughts to attract positivity. It makes me feel blessed to think that the Universe listens. ♥️
I loved reading this post, Shilpa.

  2. The universe is always listening and it is also speaking to us. While reading your thoughts here, a Hindi saying came to my mind – Bhagwaan ke ghar der hai par andher nahin. Now I understand its meaning. It may feel to us the universe did not adhere to our needs at the time we thought was right but time in earth’s terms does not hold the same relevance in the universe’s parlance. Also, the universe (we can also say GOD) always does us good.
Kuch zyada gyaan ho gaya kya? 😀

    1. Bilkul zyaada nahi hua!
I agree..the Universe is always listening to us and our wishes. But I also know that if gives us what we need and not what we want because it knows us better than we do, ourselves, and hence knows what we need to survive and be happy. And, its timing is something we will never understand. Things may take time to happen, but we need to believe that our happiness is paramount for the Universe. How I wish I had understood this truth earlier!

  3. Oh yes, the Universe always does things for our own good, be it sending us valuable lessons or granting us our wishes and dreams! I totally agree that one has to wait for the right time for things to happen in life. This is one lesson that has taken me so much time to understand. I had to stumble, fall and hurt myself countless times before I realised why things happen the way they do.
I nodded along to every word you wrote, Shilpa! Couldn’t have been better worded. And so aptly told.
So glad to see you joined in this week too, Shilpa. More power to our #soulfulSunday write!!!

    1. Last year was difficult, as were so many years before that, but on hindsight, I realise how much I learned during these times. Glad to know the Universe was with me all along. Listening to me, fulfilling my wishes and my dreams and showing me that miracles do happen.

Thanks for coming up with this brilliant idea of SoulfulSunday!
